View from Valencia

The bustling town of Cahersiveen, with its traditional shops and markets is a delight in itself. During the summer months there is a great atmosphere of liveliness which is at its peak during the Celtic music festival usually around the august bank holiday weekend. At this time musicians come from all around Ireland and Scotland and every pub has a different musician or group playing each night. This encompasses traditional ceili music, folk music and even blues and jazz. Also there are other events and classes during the day, a busking competition and a street festival at night.

Besides the spectacular surroundings, lively town life and accessable facilities Cahirsiveen also benefits from proximity to the abundance of tours, leisure activities and amenities that the beautiful ring of kerry has to offer.

Nearby there is:
· Hill walking and mountain climbing
· Daytrips to the Skellig islands
· Unspoilt beaches
· Ring forts and other archaeological sites
· A ferry to the lovely Valencia island with its “Skellig experience” centre
· Art galleries and craft centres

Cahersiveen also provides easy access for daytrips to:
· The lively town of Killarney with its lake cruises and national park
· Derrynane house and gardens in Catherdaniel
· Waterville golf course
· Eco-nature cruises, water sports and fishing off Kenmare pier
· The subterranean magic of Crag cave near Castleisland
